Uviejitobor Doles Out 15Million Naira Cash To Empower Followers In Udu

In keeping with his promises to ardent followers, the Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Hon (Chief) Peter Uviejitobor, Sunday, doled out fifteen million naira to 150 Indigenes of Udu local government area to boost their petty trades and small scale businesses.

Each of the beneficiaries got one hundred thousand naira from the gesture, which Hon Uviejitobor said was in appreciation of their support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Flagging off the exercise at a brief ceremony held in Udu, Uviejitobor who represented the Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly between 2015 and 2023, disclosed that the Sunday event marked the first phase of empowerment as more committed followers across the ten wards in the local government area, would benefit from the programme.

The Oil and Gas Commissioner who was overwhelmed with joy and gratitude as he welcomed APC faithfuls, political associates and supporters to the historic event, said the unwavering support and dedication to a collective cause by the beneficiaries have not gone unnoticed.

Hon Uviejitobor explained that as a token of appreciation, he was pleased to present each of the 150 persons with the gift of one hundred thousand naira, stressing that the gesture was an expression of gratitude for their loyalty, hard work and sacrifice.

He said, “your efforts have been instrumental in driving our movement forward, and I am honored to have each and every one of you by my side.

“As we continue to build a brighter future for our state, Udu in particular, I urge you to remain committed, united, and focused on our shared vision.

“Together, we will achieve great things and create opportunities for our communities to thrive”, Uviejitobor stressed.

The former Lawmaker thanked the people for their tireless support for Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, pointing out that the Governor’s “Renewed Hope for MORE” agenda, will drive greater development across the state, including in Udu council area.

Uviejitobor appealed to the people of Udu to desist from playing opposition politics, even as he charged them to be patient with the present administration both at the federal and state levels, insisting that the government mean well for Deltans.

“Let me remind you once again of our shared purpose and the impact we can make together.

“Let us continue to work hand in hand to collectively re-elect our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, come 2027”, Uviejitobor added.

Chairman, Udu Local Government Council, Chief Vincent Oyibode called on both leaders and followers in Udu to work together to attract development to the locality.

Oyibode commended Hon Peter Uviejitobor for empowering Udu people and tasked other leaders to emulate the worthy gesture.

The joy of the beneficiaries knew no bounds as they danced in appreciation of the one hundred thousand naira cash gift presented to them by Hon Uviejitobor.

Those who spoke thanked the Oil and Gas Commissioner for always striving to bring happiness and prosperity in their lives and promised to continue to seek direction from him.

The highpoint of the event was a vote of confidence on President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and their reelection in 2027.

The motion was moved by Dr Samuel Uwhejevwe-Togbolo, seconded by Efe Uviejitobor, and unanimously adopted.
