Udu Youths pass vote of confidence on UUC EXCO

The umbrella body of Udu youths, Ighele (UPU Youth Wing), Udu Kingdom chapter, passed vote of confidence on the Executive of the Caretaker Committee of Union of Udu Communities led by Hon. (Chief) Peter Okagbare Uviejitobor as the President-General for their selfless service.

Comr. Igho Onobraekpeyen, President of Ighele of Udu on behalf of all Udu youths pass the vote of confidence during the courtesy visit of the youth body to the Executive of UUC on Saturday 8th February, 2025 at the Office of the President-General of the UUC.

Said Onobraekpeyan, “With the manner of which they conducted the business of UUC since they were appointed in October 28th, 2024 and having given a definite date for the elections of UUC which is less than six months of administration.

We want to on behalf of Udu youths, the Ighele of Udu being the apex body representing all Udu youths in Udu Kingdom, we today pass a vote of confidence on the Caretaker Committee of UUC, headed by Hon. (Chief) Peter Okagbare Uviejitobor on the ability on the elections they want to conduct.

And we know because of the capacity and the ability of various persons in the executive committee headed by Chief Uviejitobor. Before they were made the caretaker committee, we know their personal ability, we know their personal capacity. We know they are people who can not be intimidated by anybody.

So, we want to say the whole Udu should believe in the elections they want to conduct. They should give them all support they need to succeed.

And we want to say Udu should elect a credible candidate. A credible candidate that can also stand a test of time. A credible candidate, a type of person who can also be given a short time to perform and he will also perform.

We want to say thank you very much for the job you have done so far for Udu. If you had wanted to continue, you will do the one year. You are not given excuses on the lack of finance. We had what you said on the challenges of the finance.

The government had agreed to sponsor but before the money comes, you had already working and you are not working with ordinary hands, you are working with money. And for you to make that sacrifice to use your personal money to work for Udu, we give you all the credit and we are very confident in your ability to deliver on good electoral activities for Udu.

We trust that because you are not people who can be bribe, we trust that your screening is going to be also credible. We have that confidence because if you don’t pass your screening you can not go for election.

We know that you will give fair play to every contestants in Udu. You have been doing that. Every single of your activities, you have been putting in the media and no body have challenge whatever you had put in the media.

If you have not be working, if you have not be working your talk, there would have been a lot of challenges to also opposed what you had put in the media. We trust your judgement to give Udu the best. We pass a vote of confidence on the PG and his EXCO, thank you very much”.

The President-General of the Union of Udu Communities commended the Ighele for the confidence they have on their abilities to deliver on the mandate given to them.

He described the assignment given to them as a noble one and emphasized that there are a lot of benefits as an EXCO members of UUC. He used the medium to call on all sons and daughters of Udu to take responsibility in the forthcoming UUC positions to serve Udu Kingdom.

Udu President-General urged Ighele-Udu to collaborate with UUC EXCO in the area of security for the smooth running of the upcoming elections.
