Calls To Drop Uviejitobor, Selfish, Not In The Best Interest Of Udu PDP- Akporoghene
Prominent youth leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, Comrade Tomi Akporoghene has dismissed calls for the removal of Hon. Peter Uviejitobor as commissioner nominee in the Delta state exco, citing the claims as being selfish and not in the best interest of the party in Udu Local Government.
Speaking shortly after a youth meeting at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja, Comr. Akporoghene noted that Hon. Uviejitobor did not only contribute immensely to the growth of the party in the Local Government, but was also a major factor to the success of the party at the polls.
“We all know that Udu Local Government, worse still, Orhuwhorun, is a major strong hold of the APC and it is almost impossible to secure votes there, so any one who can largely divide the votes of the opposition there is worthy of commendation. It is highly selfish and not in the best interest of our great party for calls to be made that such a person should not be made a commissioner. It is absurd.”
Comr. Akporoghene who described the appointment of Hon. Uviejitobor as strategic, added that the appointment was needed to checkmate the strength of the opposition APC in the Local Government.
“We all know that the House of Assembly member representing the Local Government is of the APC, and is also from the same ward and community as Hon. Uviejitobor, the party needs a strong hand from the ward to checkmate the activities of the APC, not just in that ward, but in the Local Government, and who better, than a two time house of assembly member, Hon. Peter Okagbare Uviejitobor.”
“Those at the fore calling for his removal all have sinister motives, they are pushing for an APC candidate for the constituency’s House of Assembly seat in 2027, and they are scared that Hon. Uviejitobor being from the same ward as the APC member they are scheming for, would hinder their plans, so they have chosen to frustrate his emergence as commissioner just to have a smooth ride in 2027, but it would not happen.”
