Akpodiete Foundation Enhances Community Security with Conflict Resolution, Gadgets Distribution



The Olotu and Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete Foundation recently organized a lecture on Conflict Resolution and Neighborhood Watch as part of its 7-year anniversary celebrations. The event, held at the Unity Hall, Ughelli South LGA Secretariat, brought together over 100 participants, including vigilante leaders and community members.
The Executive Chairman of Ughelli South LGA, Hon. Lucky Avweromre, PhD, represented by the Secretary, Olorogun John Akaruayen Ewenede, expressed appreciation for the foundation’s initiative and urged participants to implement the knowledge gained from the training.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ughelli South, CSP Olowole Oladipupo, also commended the foundation for the training, noting that it would help reduce conflict and crisis in the LGA.
Security expert Mr. Sylvester Obose delivered a presentation on conflict management, emphasizing the importance of working relationships between communities and law enforcement agents.
Chief Henry Abizor, speaking on behalf of the participants, thanked the Executive Director, SPY ACP Olotu Akpodiete,PhD for the initiative. In response, SPY ACP Akpodiete applauded the LGA Chairman and DPO for their attendance and encouraged participants to be proactive in handling conflicts and reporting security threats to law enforcement agents.
As part of the event, the foundation distributed security communication gadgets to vigilante groups in Ughievwen, Olomu, and Ewu, as well as mobile sound systems to community leaders.
The training marked a significant milestone in the foundation’s efforts to promote peace and security in Delta State.
